Strong investor confidence in Benalmádena
🎢 Tivoli World Is Coming Back: A Bold New Chapter for Benalmádena’s Iconic Amusement Park
After nearly five years of silence, one of the Costa del Sol’s most beloved attractions is set for a spectacular revival. Tivoli World, the legendary amusement park in Benalmádena that closed its doors in September 2020 due to financial difficulties, is making a comeback—bigger and bolder than ever.
The Benalmádena City Council has officially approved a groundbreaking agreement with the current owner, allowing the Tremón real estate group to not only reopen the park, but also to transform it into a multi-use tourist complex. The project will include a revamped amusement park, a shopping center, two hotels, and expanded recreational facilities.
🏗 A Vision Worth €100–200 Million
The total renovation is expected to cost between €100 and €200 million and will create around 1,000 new jobs—a major boost for the local economy. The project will triple the buildable capacity of the site, increasing its surface area to 70,000 m².
Planned features include:
🛍 Shopping center with 58,000 m² of surface area and 85,000 m² of roof space
🏨 Two hotels:
A four-star hotel with 300 rooms, to be located outside the park
A themed hotel inside the park with up to 600 rooms
🎡 Modernized and expanded attractions, making Tivoli World a new magnet for family fun and tourism
👷 Bringing Back Former Employees
In a commendable move, the agreement guarantees that all former working-age employees about 30 permanent and 80 temporary workers will be given the opportunity to return to their jobs when the new park reopens.
📅 What’s Next?
The Tremón group now has three months to submit the technical plans. If approved, the public administration will open a window for objections and proposals. The estimated timeline includes:
3–4 years for permits and approvals
2–4 more years for construction
Total projected reopening: between 6 and 8 years from now—but the wheels are already turning.
✨ Why This Matters for Costa del Sol Real Estate
This redevelopment is more than just good news for theme park fans. It signals strong investor confidence in Benalmádena, a town that’s already popular for its beaches, marina, and international atmosphere. With two large hotels, major retail spaces, and job creation, demand for nearby housing both residential and vacation rentals is likely to grow.
If you’re considering investing in Costa del Sol real estate, Benalmádena is a name to watch.
